Main Job Purpose:
The primary objective of this role is to contribute to maintaining and restoring the operational integrity of the
company’s transmission and IP network by performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance
monitoring activities with professional engineering judgment. The role directly supports service continuity by
resolving transmission faults, executing proactive maintenance, validating new equipment readiness, and
maintaining accurate operational records. Through disciplined technical execution and data-driven analysis, the
role contributes to improved network reliability, reduced service downtime, and a stable transmission
infrastructure that underpins the organization’s core services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1- Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance activities on transmission and IP equipment (SDH,
DWDM, ATN, CX) following approved procedures.
2- Troubleshoot alarms, signal degradation, and service interruptions using logs, NMS data, and field
diagnostics tools.
3- Conduct proactive checks on transmission nodes, interfaces, cabling, and protection paths to
identify early signs of degradation.
4- Conduct PAT activities by validating power, environmental, and basic operational parameters prior
to equipment migration.
5- Analyze outage data, alarms, and field observations to identify root causes and contribute
corrective recommendations.
6- Maintain accurate records of faults, maintenance activities, test results, and configuration changes
in approved systems.
7- Monitor transmission performance indicators and alarms through Network Management Systems
(NMS) and escalate abnormalities as required.
8- Apply safety instructions, work permits, and protective equipment requirements during on‑site
transmission activities.
9- Participate in upgrades, expansions, or configuration changes by executing assigned engineering
tasks and validations.
10- Support Assistant Engineers and technicians by providing technical guidance within assigned tasks
and activities.
11- Participate in acceptance testing and handover of new or upgraded transmission elements to
operations.
12- Contribute improvement ideas related to maintenance procedures, tools, and monitoring practices
based on field experience.

working on live transmission and power environments.
Technical Competencies:
1. Transmission & IP Network Operations: Applies engineering knowledge of SDH, DWDM, ATN, and CX
networks to operate, maintain, and restore transmission and IP services in live environments.
2. Transmission Fault Diagnosis & Troubleshooting: Diagnoses transmission and IP network faults by
analyzing alarms, logs, and performance indicators using NMS tools and field observations.
3. Preventive & Proactive Maintenance Execution: Executes preventive and proactive maintenance
activities, including physical checks, protection verification, and performance monitoring.
4. Network Performance Monitoring & Analysis: Uses Network Management Systems (NMS) to
monitor transmission performance, trends, and thresholds and identify early signs of degradation.
5. Equipment Acceptance Testing & Integration Support: Conducts Power Acceptance Testing (PAT)
and supports integration and migration activities by validating operational parameters and
readiness.
6. Operational Documentation & Reporting: Maintains accurate records of faults, maintenance
activities, test results, and configuration changes using approved documentation systems.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related
fields.
Experience 0–1 Year relevant experience.
Language Proficiency in Arabic and good English communication skills
